GUARD YOUR HEART (part 2)

The center of a person’s heart is his/her heart and it is imperative that we guard our heart. We have an eternal enemy, the devil that is always trying to attack us and will try anything to make us fail in the eyes of God. They will attack the center of our lives which is our heart. Especially in this end times, the devil will maximize its effort to corrupt our heart with anger, hatred, jealousy, hurt, bitterness through any situation or people around us to frustrate us and make us disappointed with God, make us questioning the goodness and even existence of God and leave Him. The worst thing is that many believers actually did take the bait and left God for even small matters involving the heart. Therefore, it is very important to protect our heart so that the peace of God in our heart won’t be stolen by the enemy.

We also need to watch over and pay attention to our heart. In every action that we do there is always motivation behind it. Some is pure but some there is a selfish ambition. God that we worship is not a God who looks at our appearances but a God who cares about our heart. We can do a good action in front of our fellow human eyes but to God it might be abomination. We can give money to charity which is good if its stop just right there and no one knows about it. But if we decide to call news channel and bring press conference or telling all of our friends about it; yes, we still did good in front of those people but our motivation turn to bring glory to ourselves instead of God then it is not pleasing in the sight of God then our heart is not pure and the devil can easily entrap us by offering us to be famous. Let’s make sure we check our motivation behind every action.

Our heart can be illustrated like a rose. We love to see rose bloom beautifully. To be able to achieve that, we need to water it, put a good soil and compost, a good amount of sunlight and free from any thorns. It is also with our heart, to maintain a good positive and happy heart, we need to shower it with pray, praise and worship and feed it with the word of God continuously so that every day our heart is becoming purer.

Proverbs 11:20 (NKJV)
20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD,
But the blameless in their ways are His delight.

Daily prayer
Lord, You are the God who look at our heart. Fill me with Your words and Your presence so that I am aware of any sins and wickedness that are in me. Help me keep guard of my heart and maintain it so it may be pleasing to You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
