GUARD YOUR HEART (part 1)

The bible in Proverbs 4:23 says “keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life”.
Many people think that the center of a person’s life lays on his head or brain, but the bible teaches us that the center of a person’s life is his/her heart because from it comes the issues of life. The life that we live every day is the picture of our own heart. When our heart is bitter then the life that we live by every day will be bitter for example: the way we speak, the way we talk, our attitude and behavior, the way we think and the way we respond to anything will feel bitter.

When our heart is bitter, we feel that other people is always out to get us, that we have nothing to be thankful for. It affects our minds and we are easily offended when people say something regardless good thing or bad. We can’t see clearly to be better and respond negatively to all of our surrounding. People around us will feel that negativity and will always be careful to act or to say around a person with a bitter heart. They will push away people who meant well because they can’t see it.

The Word of God is our filter and our guard. It teaches us to be thankful at every situation and we have a lot to thank for every single day. A person whose heart is focused on God will be able to see His abundant blessing which far outweigh any troubles that come our way. When people don’t care about us, God loves us. When we are tired, God will give us rest; when we can’t forgive ourselves, God has forgiven us; when we can’t go on, God says that His grace is more than enough and when we are alone, God promises that He will never leave us.

If we make God the center of our lives, we can guard our heart to stay soft, positive and be easily restored when it’s hurt or feel anger or disappointed, because God will always comfort us with His words and His presence. It’s like a tree and its fruit. A good mango tree will produce sweet mango fruit and others can enjoy and benefit from it. When our heart is positive and happy, it will bring positive impact to others and strengthen others through our words, attitude and behavior. God’s presence in us will draw others in positive way and more incline to believe in Jesus.

No non-believer will come to Jesus through people who show hatred, anger, judging and negative spoken words.

Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.

Daily prayer
Jesus, teach me to guard my heart with all diligence. I want to be Your witness and project positivity through my life just like You want me to be so others may see Your goodness and how Your presence in my life has changed me. Give me the discipline to read and meditate on Your words daily. In the name of Jesus I pray. amen
