We Christians believe that God able to do everything, that there is nothing impossible for God and for those who believe in Him. Yet, the reality is many of us worry over a lot of things, even over small things. We stress out, getting depressed and even getting sick because of over worrying. We have stomach ulcer, migraine, back pains, cancer because of stress and worry.
Paul said in Philippians to be anxious for nothing. Notice the word ‘nothing’ that means we should not worry at all. Many of us would say it is hard but this comes from a man who was beaten 3 times, was being stoned with rocks, experienced shipwrecked 3 times, been prisoner, robbed, tired, lack of sleep, hunger and thirst, in cold and nakedness (2 Cor 11:25), yet he remains strong for the Lord. He did not worry because He truly knew and believed that God is with Him.
Jesus knew exactly the kind of torture and death He was facing. He has every right to be afraid and worry and what did He do? He prayed and prayed and prayed earnestly and the angel came and strengthening Him.
That’s exactly what we should do. When we are worried, we pray and believe that God is able to help us. God will strengthen us and able to take care our problems. There is nothing that is too big or too small for Him. We should cast all of our burdens on Him. God wants to. He knows very well about us, His creations. He knows how we are limited in strength, mind and abilities. He wants to be involved in every part of our lives; is just that we don’t let Him.
This is the key to have a stress free life. Pray to Him over everything and give thanks for everything. Yes, for everything!!! Even in our problems we should give thanks, because God already know that we have problems and when we let our request be known to Him, He is already working on it. That is why we should give thanks; He will surely lend a hand.
There is no need to worry. As soon as we worry, we should kneel down and pray and our mighty God with all His unsurpassable, unmatchable and unlimited power is working to help us. In other word, worrying is a sin, especially if we try to solve it with our own strength. By worrying and not involving God, it’s like we are saying to Him that we don’t believe that He cares about us or He has the ability to help us. So, do not worry!
Philippians 4:6
Daily prayer
Lord, I believe in You. I believe that You are mighty and reign over all. So I cast all of my worries to You. Teach me to be a true believer. I believe that You really love me and care about me. Thank you Lord Jesus. In the Name of Jesus I pray.
